Bruce Orosz - Biography
Born in New York City and educated at Hunter College and New York University,
Bruce Orosz’s start in the entertainment industry was a natural expansion from
the specialty services provided in the travel business he owned in New York into
a full-service production company – ACT Productions in 1981. Then and now, ACT
facilitates the careers of models, photographers, actors, musicians, and global
advertising and communications clients. ACT Productions clients have included
MCI, Coca-Cola, M& M Mars, Mercedes-Benz, Canon, Elle, Vogue, Vanity Fair,
Diesel, A/X Armani Exchange, Otto Versand, Neiman Marcus, Macys, Target, the
Inte Awards, the CLIO Awards, the Islands of the Bahamas, FIU, Art Basel, Miami
Beach Arena Polo, Roberto Cavalli and the 2006 Orange Bowl pre-game and halftime
shows for ABC televised to 18.7 million viewers.
ACT Productions, founded in 1981, evolved into bases in New York, Miami Beach,
and Phoenix. It is now a multi-dimensional, commercial production company with a
film division that can provide editing to clients. Being an established events
company, the events division has produced and provided all logistics for
political, music, sports, fashion events and more. ACT has an internet division
and services clients in all media. ACT Productions’ primary production business
involves fashion, editorial and advertising production, imaging brands, music
videos and televised events.
ACT Events has been a leader in premiering worldwide events and in producing
annual events like the Winter Music Conference in Miami Beach, Maverick Records
- "Cafe Del Mar" Sunset Set at The Shore Club featuring Paul Oakenfold and Jose
Padilla, Smirnoff Ice Bungalow - at The Shore Club featuring DJs 24/7 during the
WMC and many other Shore Club events. Recent events include: Miami Beach Arena
Polo 2005 and 2006, The Clio Awards annual Miami Awards Festival 2003-2006, In
Style Magazine’s spring 2005 Beauty Event and the Celebration of the Sea
premiere concert July 2005 in Key Largo, and the Delano New Year's Eve Party.
Televised events include: The Orange Bowl, Ford Supermodel 2001 International
Finals, MIDEM Americas Music Festival, official Super Bowl events, Miami Beach
2000- the Millennium Concert, telecast live around the globe to 65 countries,
with ABC, PBS and BBC starring the Gypsy Kings and Blondie, and Revelations en
Vogue a couture show on the Delano pool. ACT has provided the production for the
Recording Academy’s events; the annual Florida Heroes Awards since 2000
featuring top musical talent, as well as the Governor’s Awards. HBO hired ACT to
produce the Miami Beach premiere for the 2000 season of Sex & the City. ACT
produced major political events for the White House with top musical talent
including: all staging and talent for the ’93 & ’97 Clinton Inaugurals in D.C.,
The Denver World Summit, DNC functions nationally, and national Saxophone Club
events. ACT’s start in the music world involved travel and logistics for rock
tours domestically and internationally with rock stars, Springsteen and later
Billy Joel, visiting Russia for the first time in the early 80’s.
Mr. Orosz is the co-chair of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau’s
Entertainment Task Force. He is also an Executive Committee member of the GMCVB,
on the board of the Beacon Council and involved with the Florida Motion Picture
and Television Association and other entertainment community involvement.
